This project involved the subdivision of a corner block and the construction of two purpose designed reverse living homes, each tailored to suit their coastal surroundings. The reverse living layout was a deliberate design choice, allowing the homes to maximise elevated outlooks while creating light filled living spaces that feel open, private, and connected to the outdoors.
On the upper floor, each home features the main living, kitchen, and dining areas, along with the master bedroom and ensuite. This configuration creates a seamless flow between indoor living spaces and the front balcony, providing an elevated area for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying ocean views throughout the day.
The ground floor accommodates additional bedrooms and supporting spaces, designed to be quiet, private, and comfortable. This separation between living and sleeping zones enhances day to day functionality and makes reverse living homes particularly well suited to coastal sites, corner blocks, and locations with elevated outlooks.
The architectural design responds directly to the site conditions, using orientation and height to unlock views that would not be achievable with a traditional floor plan. Exterior finishes combine modern materials selected for durability in a coastal environment, while maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
